From walking down a snowy road to a homemade hockey rink, “Saving Hope’s” Erica Durance and Michael Shanks have their own fond memories of Canada and are encouraging others to share their love for their country for “Canada In A Day” Sept. 10.
“Canada In A Day” will be a special on CTV made up entirely of footage shot by Canadians over a 24-hour period on Sept. 10. The film will air in 2017 as a celebration of Canada’s 150th anniversary.
Durance (who plays Dr. Alex Reid) says one of her favourite Canadian memories is walking by herself down a snowy road after a theatre performance in her hometown of Three Hills, Alta., and singing Christmas carols. She was soon joined by many members of the community.
“It just reflected to me this beautiful innocence I want to pass on to my own kids,” says Durance.
“Hi, I’m Erica Durance from Three Hills Alberta. I’m here to encourage you to share a piece of your life with us. Film it on September 10th for Canada In A Day.”
Erica Durance is a producer and lead actress on CTV’s hit drama Saving Hope, playing the role of Dr. Alex Reid. Many fans know her as Lois Lane from Smallville, which she starred as for seven years on the series.
